A pleasant walk along the beach
will bring you to the new Sovereign Harbour complex
with quayside restaurants, shopping centre and
a multiplex cinema. A little furtheralong the
coast is the Victorian seaside resort of Eastbourne
with its many attractions ranging from leisure
centres, promenade walks and the pier to the famous
carpet gardens.
Beachy Head heralds the start of the South Downs
Way and is only five miles away. Its spectacular
163m (536ft) chalk cliffs and miles of open countryside
make it ideal for walking and cycling.
History lovers are spoilt for choice as Pevensey
Bay is in the heart of 1066 country
. Pevensey
& Westham Castle founded by the Roman Empire in
the 3rd or 4th century is a convenient
15-minute walk across the marshes from the caravan
site and the small town of Hastings just a 20
minute drive.
Other well-known attractions in the area include
the annual air display, the ladies international
tennis tournament and Eastbourne’s four theatres.
